Cédric da Silva is a California-based filmmaker and photographer crafting cinematic stories with emotional depth and aesthetic clarity. Born to globe-traveling parents and raised between Brazil, Canada, and the U.S., Cédric was first inspired by the local artists of Brazil—creatives who transformed hardship into beauty through art. Before ever picking up a camera, he was writing poetry and short stories, drawn to the power of imagery and emotional truth.
While attending Mt. San Jacinto College, Cédric served as a video editor and art department coordinator for an award-winning documentary film about the school—an experience that marked his first professional immersion into visual storytelling. During this time, his photography and accompanying artist statement were published in Audeamus: National Multidisciplinary Honors Journal, affirming his voice across multiple mediums.
Cédric went on to earn a BFA in Film and Digital Media with a concentration in production from the University of California, Santa Cruz. After graduation, he was invited by the Santa Cruz Film Festival to produce their annual televised trailer. The work led to a collaboration with Gadgetbox Studios, a Santa Cruz-based production house and recording studio, where he joined the team as a video editor and eventually rose to Director of Photography. There, he shot and directed music videos, branded content, concert films, and promotional campaigns for a diverse range of artists and clients.
Since then, he has worked with global names including Cy Curnin of The Fixx, Sling TV, NHS Inc., and Dance of the Deer Foundation. At Apple, he wrote, directed, shot, edited, and produced polished, cinematic internal films in collaboration with engineers and designers—showcasing new video tools and features for professional creators. He has also contributed to large-scale live productions for major brands like Nike and Cisco, supporting both logistics and visual storytelling on site.
Though writing and directing remain his core passions, Cédric thrives across disciplines—whether capturing stills, editing story-driven campaigns, or working hands-on with artists and crews. His work combines intuitive visual rhythm with technical polish, always rooted in the belief that the right image, framed with care, can leave something lasting.
